Gingy's Cross-Country Extravaganza!

Call me a Yankee again and I will make sure you never get another cup of Tim’s.

I’m going up to Edmonton for the first weekend in July, to be subjected to-- I mean, for the family reunion. Then I’ll be heading south, to Calgary and Red Deer and Lethbridge.

Say, have you seen Fargo? If you have, when it comes time to drive from the Twin Cities to Fargo, don’t be surprised if it takes a lot longer than it seemed to take in the movie…

Last time I drove from Minneapolis to Fargo, I almost fell asleep at the wheel. The person I was driving with had driven from Kingston, Ontario, to Minneapolis, and needed a bit of sleep. I took over. I almost didn’t make it. We pulled off into an approach to a farmer’s field and napped for a little while, and I thought it was the most beautiful place in the world. Except of course for the Rockies… but then Zenster already said that.

Of course there is a possibility in Regina…if you don’t want to take RJK’s advice and miss highway #1:smiley:

Yea, well, so am I, and somehow I suspect I have the inside track on Gingery goodness. Nya!

Yeah… we don’t want that, now, do we? Let’s not tell mauvaise, eutychus, or Jessity either.

What? No, you can not have the inside track on the JessityGoodness.

Yeesh.

I’ll give you a dollar.

Is that a Canadian or American dollar?

Pfft. I’m worth way more than a dollar.
How 'bout ten?

I’ll make it $20 for both.

What? Are you leaving straight from the party? I want my Gingery Goodness, too, you know.

And don’t forget to bring me any squished pennies you might come across.

I’ll be leaving right from “Heaven”, yes. I’ll be staying til about four or five, I think, then on to Columbus.

I’ve pretty much decided that Columbus-Minneapolis is too far for one day and planning to camp. Does anyone know anything about Iowa camping? Moreover, does anyone have a self-erecting tent big enough for two?

Right. Nobody has a tent.

Today, I picked up many hours of ‘talking books’ for Matthew and I to listen to on the way. Whee!

heh heh. snerk

sorry.

I am going to pee on your house when I drive through.

A small update: I have my Advance Parole documents, after spending too much money and too much time at the BCIS/INS offices this morning, as documented here. So, I’m officially allowed to leave the country.

YIPPEEEE!

And yet another change in route. Tiburon (TIBBAY!) has generously offered Bug and I a place to stay in Illiniois. So:

06/28 - Jonathan Chance’s to Jessity’s in Columbus
06/29 Columbus to Tiburon’s in Springfieldish
06/30 Tibby’s to lno’s in Minneapolisish
07/01 lno’s to Bismarck, North Dakota
07/02 Bismarck to Great Falls and/or Barons (where Mom lives)

We have set up the tent so I know how to do that myself. I’ve got my paperwork in order so I’m allowed back in the country. I’ve got Talking Books for the boyo and I to listen to.

If you were my friend, you’d make me a mixed tape.

I have a tent (two, actually) here in Indianapolis. They’re not self-erecting, but they are pretty darned easy. Actually, we’ve got TONS of camping stuff if you should need to borrow it. And if you want to take the time to stop off at my house. Let me know!

Thanks Avarie, but we’ve got a ton of camping stuff that we very rarely use. I’m equipped to the gills.

OK, we’ll do that at the party. Do you have a CD player in that thing?
