Girl Genius has it's first gay scene -

A small one admittedly but it’s there and “IT’S FOR SCIENCE!!”

I thought the one on the left was female. Certainly seems to have Foglio hips.

Can’t decide if the one on the left is a guy or a girl. Unconfirmed.
I was kind of hoping that the Agatha/ Zeetha relationship might get into the area of “maybe their doing it offstage”. but I don’t see that happening. :frowning:

Foglio is certainly willing and able to go there, see XXXenophile.

There are relatively few Foglio women I have ever seen him draw in that strip that weren’t *very *obviously women. A non-bodacious Foglio female is fairly rare. The androgynous representation of the person with glasses part of the couple was (IMO) very deliberate.

Actually, he was very reluctant to do male-male sex scenes in XXXenophile, and even defended this in his introductory comments, saying it just wasn’t his turn-on.

Did he ever actually yield? I don’t remember ever seeing such a scene in any of the printed comics. (I don’t subscribe to the web site.)

There was this weird random strip that implied Male/ herm sex

That’s not the genre of Girl Genius- GG doesn’t actually depict sex for any pairing, male or female. There’s not even any nudity. So, within the context of this thread I was discussing whether we might expect him to depict male-male sexual situations to the extent that Girl Genius might ever depict any sexual situation irrespective of gender. What hardcore images he might choose to draw is outside my scope.

There’s an MMMM foursome about to resume at the last page of Doppelgang-bang (…“or are you ready to come back to bed?”) They aren’t actually drawn having sex on page… though two of them are mostly naked, each with an arm around the other. Oh, and if the (non-erect) penises in the art weren’t enough, the line “I don’t understand… it was another mixed-gender pair” nails down that the other two characters were not mixed in gender either (all of this was in contrast to the two gender-swapped MF couples that the bulk of the story concerned.) Not hardcore but it was an unambiguously male-male sexual situation.

With this example of prior art, I can’t summon a lot of shock at the subject at hand, a depiction of two clothed men(maybe) interrupted while making out.

Ah. It currently links to the October 6 strip, so I thought this was about that second panel. It’s simultaneously much more suggestive, but less gay.
