I cannot believe that the SDMB’s Official Necrologist, Eve, and all her little elves, have missed this, but Gisele McKenzie died last Friday in Burbank. (Free registration required for link.)
If you grew up in the 1950s, you will remember her as one of the four regulars on “Lucky Strike’s Your Hit Parade”, performing the most popular songs of the week. She had a lovely contralto voice and was perhaps my favorite singer as a kid.
Gisele was born in Winnipeg, MB, to the La Fleche family, but used her father’s middle name professionally because, she said, “Gisele La Fleche sounds like a stripper.” A short bio. (from before her death).
