That’s hard to evaluate, of course. You’ve only provided one quote from the Marcotte thread, whose meaning in the context of this thread is obscure at best. And your recollection is safely in your head.
My problem was that you kept on making new arguments, based on what I regarded as flimsy to nonexistent backing, while refusing to deal with the old ones you’d raised. Since you’d made my supposed inconsistency in my treatment of Giuliani and Edwards (and ultimately my treatment of any Republican relative to Edwards) the issue, you could keep on bringing up stuff from all sorts of past threads and just kinda throw it at the screen.
Two things you should expect: (1) that I’d refuse to let you drop one of those random flings when it didn’t prove to be to your immediate rhetorical advantage, but make you actually stick around and defend it; and (2) if you chose to make me the issue, that I might choose to make you the issue.
If that doesn’t suit you, then it might not be a bad idea for you in the future to debate the issue on the merits, rather than make your debate adversary the issue.
