Give me your 9/11 conspiracy theories! And/or their debunking

Besides, if you’re going to blow them up, why involve planes? It’s perfectly believable, and has happened before, that terrorists would plant a bunch of explosives in the bottom of the towers. The sensible thing would be to leave it at that and not have this completely unnecessary plane conspiracy.

And if that had happened then people would say “They tried to blow up the WTC with a truck bomb before and it didn’t work, you expect me to believe that it worked this time? There is obviously more to this than meets the eye!”

And then we’ll be back to thermite and space chipmunks again.

My most plausible 9/11 conspiracy theory is that the terrorists had made a “killing” on the stock market by trading in airline stocks in anticipation of their dramatic fall after the attacks. It turns out it didn’t happen, but it is not inconceivable that someone with Bin Laden’s fortune could have tried to make some money that way. I’m sure he would had it occurred to him. Would have been adding insult to murder. I’m sure he would have loved it.

Seek and Ye shall find.

That site is hilarious.

Oh really?! Care to tell me who in the military world knows how to set demo charges for one a skyscraper? They don’t even know how to do that properly in the civilian world, where demolition of buildings is a business.

Blah, blah, blah, “Everyone is sheeple but me and people who think like me”

Hearing explosions in a fire? Whodda thunk! Meanwhile, even a small demolition project can be heard for miles around YET NOBODY IN THE AREA OF THE WTC HEARS ANYTHING LIKE DEMO CHARGES, and NO VIDEO TAPE HAS SUCH SOUNDS!

Most of them represent the fringe joke end of their respective professions. I’ve talked with multiple structural engineers, architects, and pilots with loads more relevant experience than these clowns. They easily dismiss and disprove the ‘for truth’ bozos with facts, experience, and just plane simple logic.

I am an atheist.

And it shows how wrong your thinking is. Its not that I am ‘buying the government bullshit’, its that I am going where ALL of the evidence points. Simple as that.

Yeah, but I’m pretty sure the question Merijeek was asking (and if it isn’t, I’ll ask it now) is: Why does any of this require bringing the Towers down with explosives? I mean, you’ve got four planes hijacked and crashed with their passengers killed, and hundreds of people in the Pentagon and WTC killed by the crash and fires. Even if the Towers remain standing and thus don’t claim another 1,000 lives (give or take) with their collapse, it shouldn’t take a PR genius to use what you’ve got to whip the public up into the necessary frenzy to implement whichever one of the nefarious plots was the motive for the whole thing.

Heretic! Clearly, space gophers are far more plausible.

Ask people what happened immediately after a house fire and you’ll get weird, implausible stories that don’t match facts. My brother is a fireman and can tell you that from personal experience. 9/11 was the ultimate housefire on steroids times a thousand. It was by far the most chaotic event most of the witnesses will ever experience in their lives. It shouldn’t be a surprise that people reported seeing and hearing “weird things.” I have a very clear memory of hearing a news report that Saddam Hussein was assassinated by Al Qaeda that day, but with all the chaos going on that day, I obviously misheard something, and I was hundreds of miles from ground zero.

Look at coulple real demolitions. Now notice something: BANG BANG BANG BANG, etc, fall. The very real problem of these bangs - which are loud and clear and precede collapse - being absent on 9/11 is what led Steven Jones to come up with his thermite “theory”. Every thermite hypothesis has been thoroughly, grossly debunked. They were made up out of necessity because the original demolitions theories were too blatantly impossible. The thermite theories are equally impossible, but more confusing to people who don’t know their stuff, or have a desire to believe demolitions theories.

Show us some credible ones. Those “architects for engineers for 9/11 truth”, “pilots for 9/11 truth” etc websites are a JOKE. The lists are full of fake names, names of people who aren’t architects, engineers, or pilots, and names of people who don’t support 9/11 trooth and have asked for their names to be removed. A bunch of guys from another website I used to read submitted a ton of fake names to those sites with job titles like “computer engineer”, “riverboat pilot”, etc, and as of the last time I checked (admittedly like 2 years ago) they were still up.

First of all, “the government” didn’t give us the story of 9/11. The witnesses and rescue workers and reporters who experienced it did. The whole concept of a “government story” or “official story” is a strawman. Second of all, it’s not the fact that you disbelieve the government that is offensive to the victims. Despite what your posts seem to suggest you believe, you’re not going to find much love for the Bush administration here. I can tell you, personally, that I got physically ill when he was re-elected. That’s how bad I hated the Bush presidency.

What’s offensive to the victims, though, is troothers’ fabrication of a story for their own benefit (the trooth has generated millions of dollars in tshirts, DVD sales, web revenue, book sales, etc), pushing their own agenda. If your grandmother was brutally murdered in cold blood by Bob, and you know it was Bob, and people saw Bob do it, and all the evidence points to Bob, but a group of people came along insisting it was Joe to further their own causes, would you not be a bit offended? Would you not be disgusted that your grandmother’s murder, a personal tragedy, was being debased and used by these liars?

If you don’t believe lying is ubiquitous throughout the trooth movement, it’s because you don’t want to acknowledge it when you see it. It has been demonstrated time and time and time again that these people are deliberate liars, and a couple of them (Dylan Avery and Richard Gage come immediately to mind) have even admitted at times. Just the fact that no consistent story, no “unified trooth theory”, has come out of their “movement” in almost 8 years should tell you a lot. They use a strategy of trying to poke holes in something, and then when they’re proven wrong, instead of acknowledging it, they move on to something else. After going full circle through all the elements they can think of to try to poke holes in, they figure enough people have forgotten the first one so they go back to it and the circle starts over. That’s all they’ve done for almost 8 years, over and over: poke, get proven wrong, move on without acknowledging they were proven wrong and poke somewhere else. Around and around and around in circles.

If someone made an animation of Pinocchio running around in circles, carrying a set of goal posts, it would be the perfect representation of 9/11 Trewth.

All what evidence? You mean everything you’ve been told? Have you seen any of it with your own eyes? No.

Was the official investigation woefully underfunded and stifled by those in power trying to cover their asses? Yes.

I suppose you saw Dick Cheney do this with your own two eyes, huh?
Did you see him do this first? You treuthers need these.

Yawn!

Do you never get tired of all these lame attempts at ridiculing people who don’t quite think like you?

If you are sick of this subject still being brought up 8 years on, and you feel it’s all stoopid and been rehashed over and over again, why do you keep popping back into these threads?

Your actions are like those of the religious person who gets self-righteously offended by disbelievers, when really it should be like water off a duck’s back.

People who don’t think like me like grilled salmon.

People who don’t think like me think the girl who played Mary Jane in the Spider-Man movies is a good actor.

People who don’t think like me think getting an MBA is a great path to a rewarding career.

I don’t ridicule any of them.

There is a big difference between “people who don’t think like me” and 9/11 troothers.

And stop trying to make your religion and 9/11 trooth analogy happen. It’s not going to happen. You’re getting it backwards.

The fact you are putting a label of “troothers” on anyone who doesn’t share your views on the events of 9/11, means you are just as dishonest as the worst of the liars and misguided on the opposite side, and even worse than the ones who seriously believe there was no planes, or a beam from space brought the towers down.

You know, ivan, you can’t just make up anything and cry foul when people insult or ridicule your claims. I can’t say Barack Obama was elected by a cabal of mind-controlling crab people and then throw my hands up and say, “hey man, don’t label me” when you point out how ridiculous that is.

Present a comprehensive alternative theory of what happened on 9/11 using facts, evidence, and logic, and I’m all ears. Until then, you guys are joke. My only reason for bothering to acknowledge you is that your crap spread in the first couple years because everyone who knew better ignored it, and kids searching google and reading messageboards didn’t see any counter arguments.

Yeah, think of the children!
The puny-stupid children!

If you are as well versed in the circumstances and objections to the official theory as you like to portray, you’ll know what’s out there anyway.

Why would you want another “twoofer” to recount their opinions, if not to try and ‘prove’ your superior intellect by spouting the party line, chapter and verse? That in itself, implies a flaw in your thinking methods.

What party line? What official story? That’s a strawman. The government did not tell me what happened on 9/11.

I already explained one of the reasons that the trooth is offensive just a few posts ago; don’t you want people to re-examine their offensive beliefs?

Present a comprehensive alternative theory of what happened on 9/11/01 that relies on facts, evidence, and logic, or admit you’ve got nothing.

The evidence of professional engineers & architects making reports on the building’s failures. The evidence of firefighters who state it was the fire and laugh at those who say it was demolitions. The total, utter lack of evidence of any explosives at the WTC.

I have been to demolition site after the collapse. There is a huge amount of evidence that explosives were used: burnt detcord, remains of the boxes they put the charges in, metal columns showing by colored scheme how they were obviously cut by explosive charges. Copper bits that were wrapped around the charges.

NONE of these things were found at the WTC. NONE! Clean-up crews would spot them instantly, firefighters trying to make rescues would have spotted them, civilian crews working on the site would have spotted them. There is no magic explosive that leaves no sign, except in the world of the truther.

Do you really think spending more money would find what is only in your delusions? The FBI, the 911 commission, and NIST all spent hundreds of millions. Spare me.

I’m humble enough to admit I’ve got nothing but supposition; you have the hubris to believe you know the real truth.

When in all likelihood you probably know just what you’ve been told like the vast majority of people.
