Someone put a post-card sized flyer in my car door today. It was for a dating service of some sort. Since I’m married, and knocked up, dating is out of the picture for a few decades. As I was tossing it in the recycle bin, some of the print caught my eye: *We will prosecute individuals who submit blank cards, please complete the form. *
:dubious: WTF? If the form is blank, who would they come after? Would they dust for prints?
If they were asking for names and birthdates, then please rescue it from the garbage and call the police. This could be an identity theft scam and a lot of people are naive enough to bite.
My personal belief is that if anybody IS stupid enough to bite, they deserve all the flak they subsequently get.
I am so frigging sick and tired of hearing about ‘scams’ and suchlike. If you’ve got even half a brain, you’ll realise that “If it sounds too good to be true” it most likely is. All the poor schmucks who end up on the tabloid telly programs whingeing about how badly done by they have been should just suck it up and learn a valuable lesson.
And grow a brain in the process. Fer’ fuck’s sake, how many people need to be rescued from their own stupidity??
Wild-ass guess, if the form is postage paid then they’d probably try some mail fraud variant for you wasting their money. I have zero idea if they could actually pull that off, however.
