GLEE season premiere

:dubious:

A Broadway star isn’t a professional singer, and some cheeseball with a self-released CD is?

FTR, the kid who plays Artie was in some kind of boy band – Lea Michelle and Matthew Morrison have had lead roles in Broadway shows. More of their guest stars are from Broadway (or at least last season’s guest stars had been), since those are the people who tend to have acting skills in addition.

:dubious: Right back at ya. My point was that was needless nitpicking. I didn’t get the impression that they were implying that Glee castmembers are somehow unprofessional, but rather that the guest star was a celebrity from the music recording world. That was clear from context, and there was no point in twisting the phrase to imply something else.

I’m sure the producers will be happy to know that their celebrity guest stars are unappreciated, because the castmembers are all famous enough.

Eh, okay, my original comment was meant more or less humorously, I’m really not trying to get into an argument here. Forgive my snark.

I really liked Sunshine, sad that she is not going to be a weekly regular.

Poor Artie, but hopefully other asian will get some more screen time.

Did I see that Brittney does some Britney next week?

I like Bieste, she is going to be a great character.

Say what? I do not understand that leap in logic to your last sentence. No one said they didn’t want celebrity guest stars.

I love COACH BIESTE… who thinks she reminds you of Coach Roberta "Bobbi " Glass.

I like that Quinn in gonna get all bitchy-Cheerios on us again. Sometimes you gotta love the villian just for being the villian, and Ryan Murphy knows this better then anyone (Sue Sylvester and Nicole Julian come to mind)

And for anyone who didn’t understand my references, please look up the TV show “Popular”

Though I will say “Please no Betty White… please no Betty White… please no Betty White…”. It’s over, she’s overexposed, yes I know she’s a feisty 90 year old but… let’s have a BW free zone.

Is it just me or are they deliberately writing Rachel to be unsympathetic?

She was annoying last year, but jesus. I wanted to slap her hard this week.

It would probably be better if she had a facial expression other than Sincere Concerned Distress or Smug Self-Satisfaction.

Sure – there’s the squinchy singing face also.

I liked the coach’s non-sequiturs, though I only remember “You’re all coffee no omelette”. I get the feeling they haven’t decided yet whether to make the coach sympathetic or evil.

Was Emma on the show last night? Nothing personal against the actress but I wouldn’t mind her character being scrapped. (Maybe she could realize she really did love the old coach and they could marry and adopt Matt.)

I think they are, which feels little odd after the big sympathy-inducing scene with her trying to reconnect with her bio-mom in the recent reruns.

Are they really changing Rachel that much? I remember her being a diva bitch last season too.

She was, but she also got a lot of sympathetic airtime with the whole mom issue, and she wound up with The Guy She Wanted (though I dunno why she wanted him, Noah is like 3000% hotter).

She’s been set up as The Main Character, and it’s unusual for The Main Character to be portrayed so very unsympathetically.

I wonder if Finn and Rachel are having sex.

A nitpick, but I don’t think Puck would be legally able to get a vaesectomy since

1- He’s a minor
2- He doesn’t have a child (well, technically he does, but it was adopted at birth- some states have laws that a man can’t have a vaesectomy until he has had a child UNLESS he or his wife carries the genes for a debilitating illness or his wife’s health would be compromised by pregnancy)
3- He doesn’t have the genes for a debilitating illness or a wife

But, Ohio laws could be different I suppose with a parent’s consent (which his mother would probably give after Quinn).

A friend mentioned that he was irritated by the excessive lipstick or lip gloss on Chord Overstreet (aka “the new guy”). I didn’t notice it; did anybody else?

No argument on the hotter part, but he’s also a selfish immature (even for a high school student) philandering douche.

Did anyone else think that Lea Michele looked way too thin? During the last song, all I was thinking was “Get that girl a sandwich!”

I think they will in an episode or two. I don’ t think should would have spoken so casually of thier breaking up if they had. The mutual I-won’t-leave-yous cemented Finn’s fate. Poor lad.

I thought that was going to turn out to be a plea for donations to the Cheerios. :stuck_out_tongue:

Puck would make a nice fuck-buddy, but Finn would be the better boyfriend IMHO.

From your mouth to Og’s ear.

Amen!

While it was good to have the show back, I just got the sense that since it was a fairly big hit last year, they’re trying to showcase everyone more now. Jon Chu seemed to get a lot more random dancing time on screen now that LXD is out on the web. I don’t know…more like “hey look at me” than a good show.
