My Mac mail was set up with a particular company in mind (they did it). There is a globe/world icon with their name on it and some sub-folders. I don’t seem to need any that.
I am going to take that account off-line. Can I just delete the globe or will disaster ensue?

Can’t you just go to the Preferences, find the account, and remove it from your list of mail accounts?
(As for the OP, I imagine that the Mail program will warn you if you’re going to do something irrevocably disasterous. But I don’t think you need to go that route.)
So I can just delete it?
I’m also curious where this glob icon comes from. I can find no explantion for it within the help menus.
Hard to tell without more information, but I’d say what the heck and try it. You do have backups, right?
