Yeah Mods. When you have nothing better to do, get off your fat arses and do some research. And this room needs dusting as well.
If you don’t find a topic you’re looking for you could always START a thread about it…meaning start a thread like “Let’s talk about GM food” rather than asking someone else to dig up links to old threads.

I wanted to do that as the last resort. Someone (not necessarily mods)who participated could always link to the threads easily.

I’m not about to link all the hits from my phone.
Generally, if a thread is more than a month old (and I can’t recall any GM food threads that recent) restarting it would make it a zombie, which some people frown on, so really there wouldn’t be any penalty to starting a new thread.
Starting it in About This Message Board, however, might also annoy people - going to General Questions and starting it might be more appropriate.

It’s better to google “site:boards.straightdope.com” instead of “the straight dope” - it limits the search to just this board.
It’s even better to just use “site:straightdope.com” without the “boards.” part. That way you’re searching the boards AND the columns.
Ignorance fought. I just learned two things from this thread:
- The thing about site:straightdope instead of site:boards. I should have thought of this, but didn’t. Thank you, voltaire.
- In this context GM means “genetically modified” and is not the name of the car company. When I opened the thread I thought I might end up reading about the new Chevy Kumquat.
And my first thought was General Mills.
Since the OP has already been given excellent instructions as to how to search for what (s)he is looking for, I will only add that I thought at first that “GM” meant “General Mills.”
Glad it wasn’t just me.
My favorite GM food is Cheerios.
