Gmail account disabled for violating Google's policies, but........what for?

So, I’ve had a Gmail account** “disabled because it was used in a way that violates Google’s policies.”** I can’t imagine how or why. I certainly didn’t use it to spam or hack or anything - does this mean that maybe someone else hacked into it and was using it to spam or hack?

(I was last in that Gmail account just a few weeks ago.)

Anybody had this before?
