Gmail and Thunderbird

Anyone using Thunderbird 2.0 with gmail? Win XP with SP 2. The following settings work for Outlook 2003, but I can only get mail with TB, not send.

pop.gmail.com port 995, SSL
smtp.gmail.com port 465, SSL

your ISP probably may not allow you to use any smtp except their own

And the ISP, Wildblue, changed their email over to gmail, damn their eyes.

Port 587 and “TLS, if possible” (or whatever that’s called in English) work for me.

Same port as Kellner, “TLS” option selected (not “TLS, if available”).

I’m using 2.0.0.12, and when I went in to set up my Gmail account using these instructions*, it gave GMail as a separate option in the account type, and loaded all of these settings in by default.

*I don’t use it much, and hadn’t thought about putting it in my Thunderbird app before.
