Gnesa: Rebecca Black's "successor"

Warning: This may make your ears ooze.

I sat thru it all. It sure seemed longer than 4:06. At least I won’t have it stuck in my head; it’s far too tuneless for that to happen.

I saw enough of her on The Soup to not click that link and give her another hit.

It’s not that bad, just bland and amateur, like a high school student’s “Media” project. As far as I’m concerned, Balloon Boy’s rap video is still the heavyweight champion of awfulness.

Thankfully, the link in the OP doesn’t go to her page.

But see, that one is so bad it’s good. The video in the OP is just bad.

Also, Balloon Boy made into World of Warcraft as an NPC:

Though I’ll admit I didn’t get the reference until I looked at your link.

“Wilder” and “Friday” are bad in entirely different ways. “Wilder” is just poor in every possible department. The singing is poor, the dancing is uninteresting, the direction and set design are unimaginative, and the songwriting is no good. Nothing could have saved it. The interesting thing about “Friday” is that it has some real directing talent applied to a mediocre singer and a song that could be better. The Ark Music Factory can make good videos when they have a good singer and a better song. Take a look at the video for “Butterflies” by Alana Lee Hamilton. The song actually makes sense for a girl the age of Hamilton or Rebecca Black. The people at Ark Music Factory simply didn’t care enough to make sure that Black got a good song with a good video. They just took her money and did their best with bad ingredients. Black (and her parents) simply accepted the mediocre song that the Ark Music Factory offered her (and apparently Black isn’t a very good singer, but since everything is autotuned, it’s hard to tell). Hamilton got offered a song appropriate for her age:

“Singers” like Rebecca Black and Gnesa remind me of a group called the Shaggs:

The difference is, the Shaggs were forced into music by their father, while Black and Gnesa’s videos reek of “present for rich girl.”

Apparently, Gnesa is only allowing positive comments on her channel. The over-the-top praise is hilarious. In addition to being tone deaf, Ms. Gnesa also seems to be sarcasm deaf.

I lasted 36 seconds.

Wow.

“Friday” made me laugh out loud several times the first time I watched it. That’s gotta count for something.
