My favorite cover is “Billie Jean” by Mike Henry and Justin Robinett.
Holy shit, that is great! Saved to favorites. Thanks!
Saw this on youtube about a year ago. Damn that girl has pipes.
You’re welcome. People with actual musical talent piss me off. I have none.
The kids in the GnR cover are really talented. Fun to see.
The Billie Jean cover: first of all, jeez!! The level of inner groove required as the switch off between drums, piano and vocals is wondrous. I can do some complex coordination with multiple guitar lines + vocals, but that was over the top.
I love musical communication, but man, those two had better be best friends or partners or something. The level of up-close work required to make that work is just astounding.
I will say that there is a fine line between musicality and a cool stunt. I am deeply impressed with their craft but don’t know that I need to see it again. Kind of like the conversation that happens when a new OK Go music video is released - what do you do when the stunt overshadows the music?
OK Go makes music?
Of course, I’m being facetious. They have a song or two that I like, but I’m not a huge fan of the band. The videos, however, I could watch all day. “White Knuckles” is one of my favorites, just because I love animals.
They have one called “Needing/Getting” that’s pretty awesome when you think about the preparation and set-up it took to create it.
