Marley, you’re a good brother. I just wanted to say that.
And to LittleBro, congratulations!

Good news!
Even happier news, he’s just been accepted to Tulane. That was his first choice and it’s a hell of a school in a great city. I’m loving the idea of visiting him in New Orleans, but I’m getting ahead of myself. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets accepted to every school he applied to, or close to it. I told my family they were overdoing it, but he’s going to have options for sure. This is turning into a great time for us.
Congratulations from a UW alum ('75) with a daughter alum ('08).
Upon preview I see Tulane might be in his future. Well, regardless of destination congrats are in order!
Marley23, I’ve followed your threads about him, too, and this is such wonderful news! Wherever he ends up, I wish him the best of luck!
He’ll still have to hear back from the other schools he applied to, of which there were plenty, and then compare financial aid offers and whatever else.
Much respect. You know, they have this Idea up in Wisconsin…
(I spend the better half of a lecture discussing the Wisconsin Idea in my History of Higher Education course.)
I just saw this. I’m so happy for you and your LilBro!
To brag on my twin niece and nephew - she’s at Texas A&M - Galveston studying Oceanography, and he’s joined the Air Force. Both great kids!
My son continues to be employed. Yay!!! (He’s a cook.)
Thanks very much, Dolores Reborn, and congratulations to your son, niece and nephew. Since the last time I posted here, my brother was accepted to the University of Vermont, and Kent State. He should hear from some other schools this month.
On Wisconsin!, meng

Is he going to Madison? Or one of the extensions? Or has he picked Tulane? Tulane is a great school too, but I’m biased because I grew up in Madison. So I feel confident in saying that Madison is the greatest city in the US.
No decisions are going to be made for a while. He still needs to hear from a lot of schools and he won’t make his choice until he’s done with his visits. Tulane and Vermont were his top choices going in, but he also likes some other schools that haven’t responded yet.
My nephew has been accepted at Tulane also. Wouldn’t it be bizarre if they both went there?
I’m very happy to hear this. Your brother deserves to get this kind of happy news after all that he went through. Congrats to him and best wishes to your family.
I’m very glad to hear he’s doing so well, both physically and with his education. May he live long and prosper, to coin a phrase.

Yay, Marley’s brother! I just found this thread, and I’m so happy to hear he’s doing well.
Brag away, this is a remarkable achievement. It is impolite to brag about oneself but I don’t want to live in a world where you can’t brag about your family, especially when they overcome such obstacles.
Go Marley23’s brother, go!
Tulane sucks. Tell him this. There’s absolutely no better place for him than in Madtown.

Thanks guys. The way things are going he won’t have a prayer of visiting all of his potential schools, but I’m guessing Florida and Ohio State still have a shot. I don’t know when they’ll get back to him but I’m sure they won’t keep him waiting much longer.

Depending on what he’s studying and what kind of atmosphere he’s looking for, Ohio State could be perfect or could be perfectly awful. Let us know if OSU makes it into the running. I’d be glad to give him info.
