Much though I despised the way they beat us in the World Cup I am cheering for them at 20-20 v the Wallabies.
'Twasn’t to be, sadly. Meanwhile England have disposed of the Pacific Islands with a healthy collection of tries while Wales could muster naught but five penalties against South Africa, the kind of performance that usually sees much snarking on the English when they do it.
France/Argentina could be interesting, a rematch after the World Cup saw the (misnamed) Pumas emerge twice victorious. Expect less of Scotland against New Zealand, though, while Ireland should have too much in the tank for Canada unless there’s something badly wrong with the world.
How’s the rugby world cup going over there don’t ask? Much of an event? England’s performances has really doused down the enthusiasm for it over here. Got well and truly bent over by Australia. Aus are always going to win, but I thought Eng would be more competitive.
Hardly getting any attention at all. Australia’s wins have been pretty dull but some of the lesser lights have been great fun to watch, they aren’t playing the same regimented stodge. Much like Italy last night who I thought were more exciting than Australia and a little unlucky with a few ref’s calls.
