I’d like to ask the OP: which response so far comes closest to the debate that you were hoping to inspire? Please note that so far, most of the posts have been wondering what exactly you wanted to debate. And you haven’t answered a previous question: is it your belief that your OP constituted a debate just because the quoted material had the word “debate” in it?
One last attempt to find a debate: perhaps she was asking whether Kerry’s characterization of Reagan was correct? (The title would tend to discount this, but it’s a possibility.) If so, we already have a thread for that, so this one is redundant.
No debate, then, if everyone agrees with what JFK said about RWR, unless he might be lying?

And I see on preview that you’ve come back. No, I think that Kerry is giving it the ol’ platitudinous shot and doesn’t necessarily mean all that he says. As you may have noticed, he’s a politician. They excel at saying things that they don’t necessarily mean. Or did you really believe that Saddam was an immediate threat to the US?

Further, by way of illustration, I wondered if you actually believed the utter nonsense that issued forth from Bush fils when he claimed that Saddam Hussein was so bad that he must be stopped immediately!
