God Bless Ronald Wilson Reagan ...

You might be right, “A dog always smells its own waste first” …

Okay, I’m getting mighty confused now.

I’d like to ask the OP: which response so far comes closest to the debate that you were hoping to inspire? Please note that so far, most of the posts have been wondering what exactly you wanted to debate. And you haven’t answered a previous question: is it your belief that your OP constituted a debate just because the quoted material had the word “debate” in it?

One last attempt to find a debate: perhaps she was asking whether Kerry’s characterization of Reagan was correct? (The title would tend to discount this, but it’s a possibility.) If so, we already have a thread for that, so this one is redundant.

No debate, then, if everyone agrees with what JFK said about RWR, unless he might be lying?

Hang in there, Sally. I see you’re new to the boards (I’m not that old to them myself) but there probably would have been a better forum for this thread. Having said that though, and having read your posts in the pit, let me say hang in there…don’t let the [expletives deleted] get to ya.

I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you’re saying/asking. Could you clarify?

I think this counts as ‘witnessing’, and is therefore appropriate in this forum. Yep.

Ooooh! She zings me with my own SN. Damnation! Whatever shall I do? Perhaps I’ll just expire in a coughing jag after hitting a high C.

Nah, fuck that.

So, SallyStar, are you ever gonna get around to letting everyone else in on the secret debate that you oh so desperately hoped to inspire? Or are you gonna continue to vainly try to piss me off?

And I see on preview that you’ve come back. No, I think that Kerry is giving it the ol’ platitudinous shot and doesn’t necessarily mean all that he says. As you may have noticed, he’s a politician. They excel at saying things that they don’t necessarily mean. Or did you really believe that Saddam was an immediate threat to the US?

Do you know Starving Artist, you are the first one who has been even slightly considerate to me here. Maybe I should have noticed you also. :frowning: I’m still thinking of signing up, but I don’t know if I will be ever part of one of the clique’s or tag team’s here. Thanks

I like this one.

There Are no cliques here.
Nor clicks.

Give us something to debate and you will find many intelligent thoughtful responses.

No, no more than Hitler in Europe after the Japs attacked Pearl Harbour … (don’t know what the hell this is about!) …

You are actually equating Saddm with Germany and Japan???

Now that is funny.

It is a joke right?

Surely you aren’t that misinformed.

Uh, was the war in Europe a preemptive war and/or a War of Choice? (still don’t know what this has to do with this thread??) …

SallyStar:

inre my pissy little aside:

It’s called reading comprehension. Such a simple thing really. Well, for most people anyway.

Let us recap: You wondered if Kerry might be lying.

I in turn opined that I didn’t think that he was as sincere as he might be when he is defending himself against those who try to claim that he’s stepping out on his Missus. Then I pointed out that speaking about that which you may not care for while sounding truly sorrowful is something that comes remarkably easy to those of the political class. Further, by way of illustration, I wondered if you actually believed the utter nonsense that issued forth from Bush fils when he claimed that Saddam Hussein was so bad that he must be stopped immediately!

See, pretty simple if you just follow along. Unless you need someone to help you with the big words.

Hey, if various mouth-breathing knuckle draggers will equate the Bush administration with Nazi Germany, than certainly Saddam is fair game.

I know microscopic thermodynamics, but you never answered if Hitler in Europe had to be stopped immediately after Pearl Harbor?

Big talk.
Bet you don’t know about BIG thermodynamics! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hitler declared war on the US on Dec. 11, 1941. So there was no preemption.

LMAO … no smilie for that …

Oh, c’mon, when did OBL declare war on us and what did we do?
