I see your point. To clarify, the comment about adding another conservative and getting more liberals was regarding the SDMB forums, not the television panel shows which usually max out at around five or six panelists.

Also SallyStar, speaking of Shodan, he is a very effective and (as least as much as possible given that he’s a conservative) respected member here. If you want to learn how to really give these guys pause, I highly recommend that you check out as many of his posts as you can. To the degree that you can become as effective as he is at stating your positions and the reasoning behind them, the more successful will be your experiences in the Pit and GD. (You’ll know you’ve won when your oponents begin to adopt “moron” or “idiot” or “mouthbreathing knuckle-dragger” as the premise of their rebuttals.)

Uh…yeah. I wonder why that is. Could it be because like I said, the pile-ons (**Reeder ** excepted. I forgot about him. Even libs can’t take too much of him. ) invariably consist of about a 5 or 6 to 1 ratio of liberals over conservatives? Given that this is the case, it’s not surprising that complaints (or comments, as I read them) would be in regard to liberals piling on conservatives.

There are posters, I guess who never watched Firing Line with William F. Buckley. When he discussed politics with two guests he was always careful to have one “liberal” and one “conservative,” and, of course, William F. Buckley who as moderator(?) was there to steer the program in the right direction.
