I get it now… this is a joke thread.
Maybe so, but the NFL beats the shit out of either of them.
Turner/Time Warner probably has a contractual responsibility to broadcast all of the live events they’re licensed for. And while I’m not an NBA fan particularly, I can tell you that the bleed over between TBS and TNT during the early rounds of the baseball playofs saved me no end of agita.
Plus, you know, Big Bang Theory? Seriously?

It’s only a theory.
No, I was actually quite annoyed.
Had they cut in to broadcast a Dodgers game I wouldn’t have made a peep.
Communist.
Because it’s the Cup. That’s why.
(Seriously, you’re surprised that they’re interrupting shows during the Stanley Cup play-offs?)
How long does that go on? It seemed more like they were showing games for the whole season, but that could have been just my irritation…
And why KDOC? That is a local indy station, how could they get anything like the Stanley Cup?
I don’t watch any sports unless I have to, so if it was just for the Stanley Cup I wouldn’t have known it. I didn’t even read the details on the guide, I just swore at the TV and changed the channel.
If people can’t tell the difference, then why should they bother buying more?
Which was the correct decision, and should have been stood behind and retained as policy. The Super Bowl had its time slot; it ran over; boo hoo extra hoo.
It wasn’t the Super Bowl, it was a regular season game. It was also one of the dumbest decisions the network could have made. Viewership drops like a rock when they switch to shitty movies, and they took a huge PR hit that day. Nothing about that decision was correct, which is why no single station on the planet would ever do it again.
Picking nits, but the Heidi game wasn’t the Super Bowl.
It was a regular season Jets vs. Raiders game that had an unbelievable ending. Sorta like cutting off a murder mystery right before the detective announces the butler did it.
The owners of the Anaheim Ducks are part owners of KDOC. Their current lineup includes broadcasting the Ducks games so it wouldn’t surprise me if what you saw was just a regular season game.
Ah! That makes sense. Now, if they would just return to regular programming after the games are over instead of making a big mess of the schedule…
You talking about TBBT characters or a basketball team? I’m confused.
Well, then they shouldn’t let the fucking murder mystery run long. ![]()
I’d be satisfied if the sports programming would just stay on the stations I don’t go to anyway.
Nitpick:
The Mighty Ducks.
Yes, yes, I know, they “officially” changed their name to drop the “Mighty” and remove the stigma of being forever associated with a cheesy Disney movie franchise. I don’t care. To me, they are and always will be the Mighty Ducks (the Ducks are the football team at the University of Oregon).
Just like the Designated-hitter-loving bastards across the street will always be the California Angels. ![]()
Either one, depending on what side you are taking in this debate. I’m easy (just ask my wife!) ![]()
