I think DreadCthulhu’s abuse of the Nelson laugh in response to people’s misery is far more pit-worthy than the 1920s DR stuff.

I think there’s always been an underlying revolt against “Hi, Opal” for quite some time. It’s massively old, every new user that signs up asks about it first in GQ then again in ATMB when they’re reprimanded, Opal herself is hindered on doing vanity searches by it, and it’s gotten very, very tired.

The whole Ray-Gun thing is not even remotely funny anymore, not that it ever really was. It was kind of catchy for about, oh, 5 hours or being generous for the first day. However, after that it’s been about as entertaining as circumsising myself with a straight blade.

After reading all the links (phew!) it’s pretty obvious he’s doing it solely to be irritating. IOW, I don’t think he thinks the posts are funny, he’s mocking us with them, which he thinks is funny.

I just want to know why people can’t hyphenate the damn things. Shouldn’t it be 1920s-style Death Rays? And isn’t the apostrophe unnecessary? I’d like a ruling here.
I was this close to starting this thread myself. I’ve seen the Death Ray thing pounded into the ground, and DreadCthulhu is by no means the only poster guilty of this.
But, there’s a big difference in this case. Almost every other DreadCthulhu post seems to refer to pre-war Scalar Weapons, and said mention is shoehorned into totally irrelevant posts and threads.
So, DreadCthulhu, for all our sanity, cease and desist. Please. Please. It’s just not that funny!
