It’s what producers and programmers dare greenlight. Considering that “Christian” has a broad range of variations, they try to avoid friction and often settle on mushy nonchallenging plots supporting a sort of mushy nonspecific theology that doesn’t offend and doesn’t excite.
Some Christian critics have called out “christian” movies/TV/music for the tendency to be either low-substance spiritual pablum, or at the opposite end, badly-written staged sermons. But they seem to be voices crying in the wilderness.
Ah, good…I’m not the only one who sings the title to that tune whenever I see it. (Though in my case it’s the less overtly religious Kenny Rogers version.)
Huh? I thought that was the President of the Universe* – who figured that people coming to talk to him just might really be visiting in order to sing to his cat.
–G?
*Not Zaphod, who was just the president/figurehead/distraction of the Galaxy.
I’ve been watching this show off and on, and I’m wondering how long it can go on without some sort of reveal as to who/what is behind the “God” account. I say “what” because I secretly hope “God” turns out to be The Machine from Person Of Interest
Can this show go on indefinitely without a reveal, and what would you like that reveal to be if it happens?
I never watch CBS, except for Survivor and football, but they show commercials for this show constantly. I swear, every time I see a commercial, they’re teasing that the next episode will reveal who’s behind the account.
That’s the same thought I had when I first started watching the show. It doesn’t seem to be going in that direction, but I thought it would have been a cool reveal.
I thought this show might be like Quantum Leap. I’m guessing it’s not by the responses here. I haven’t watched any episodes yet, but if it were like QL, I’d be all over it!
Well, the “ALL WILL BE KNOWN! YOU WILL FIND OUT WHO IS BEHIND THE GOD ACCOUNT!!” season finale aired last night.
Apparently, lying isn’t a sin any more.
All suspects and possibilities were eliminated, and they were in the same situation they were in in the first episode, without even a ghost of a hint of a clue as to who is behind it.
