God Friended Me

Eh, its a harmless piece of fluff show.

Good stories, nice tying together, no world-ending drama and a decent message - both in religious and non-religious tones.

I like shows with happy endings, and showing that people can be good folks. There’s too few of them out there.

Aaaaand…canceled.

I had to chuckle that The Friendly Atheist had a banner ad at the top of the screen for the New Melleray Abbey, which is in my region and they support their monastery by selling, among other things, caskets.

So God unfriended them?

It sounds like they knew it was coming and we’re at least able to wrap it up rather than just leave it hanging.

I’m going to be so disappointed if Michael Emerson doesn’t show up in the series finale.

So did they ever resolve the question of who was behind the account?

Not yet, but there’s still episodes left including an extra length finale. There’s been a series of ambiguous leads.

Right now it looks like the Dad’s war buddy’s son was involved with some kind of advanced agency AI, but it got stolen by an unknown party and presumably used to create the God account.

I’ve always thought it was going to go in the direction of a family friendly version of Person of Interest. I suspect that whatever conventional answer they give, there will be some tiny crack left open for god actually being involved somehow too.

Tonight is the two hour finale, so place your bets. Is it going to be:

  1. Full non-supernational reveal
  2. Full supernatural reveal
  3. Partial reveal with enough room for doubt to drive a popemobile through
  4. No reveal at all.

I’m betting on 3…but I still hold out hope that there is a small Person Of Interest connection.

I guessed wrong.
It was 4-no reveal.

That sucks. Divinely.

But not totally unexpected, after the scam they pulled at the end of last season where they claimed in previews that “All will be revealed in the season finale”…And nothing was revealed.

The Lord posts in mysterious ways.

About the final scene:

I would like to believe that the little boy who met Miles at the top of the mountain and said “Miles, follow me. She’s been waiting for you”, took him to meet Sameen Shaw, and that The Machine from Person Of Interest was behind The God Account(both shows were on CBS).

Czarcasm, as someone else who was hoping that the Machine was involved, I’m going with your ending!

Older version: The Littlest Hobo. The German Shepherd in the main role was named London.

Thank you for linking to the original version of that show.
