Earlier this summer I saw a band called Del Castillo in a bar, and was totally knocked out by their guitarists, a pair of brothers. So I got a CD by them.
They do basically kind of a Tex-Mex rock thing, and they’re pretty good – the dual guitar thing is phenomenal. Some of their songs are in Spanish, which I don’t speak – though I suspect the lyrics are probably pretty banal. The English lyrics sure as shit are. And ungrammatical: “All I do is for you and I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I…” makes me shudder every single time.
So I’ve been listening to the CD a fair amount, but I have to remember to not pay attention to the lyrics, because it really upsets me how bad they are.
