Okay, the original author is dead, the last movie in the series was a decline in quaity from the first two(It was good, but not great), and the main character of the series is dead. Why does that sound like a reciepe for failure?

Does anyone else (dis)agree with me on this?

There already is a “Godfather 4.” It’s called “the Sopranos”.

Saturday Night Live did a spoof which was a film called “Godfather 4”. In it, Michael Corleone’s brain is revived in a glass tank a la’ “Donovan’s Brain”. The Brain of Michael repeats his signature line from “Goffather III”: “Every time I think I’m out of it they bring me back in again!

Maybe they could feature Sofia Coppola, since she was obviously robbed by the Academy. She didn’t even get a nomination for that stellar performance.

Puzzo wanted to make a Godfather 4. Said he was just waiting for the studio to ask him for a script. He wanted to cover the years between the beginning of Part I and the De Niro scenes in Part II.

Note that what they are talking about is a sequel to the book, not the movie.

True, but, Paramount has first rights to the movie. I think they want someone to write the book then they will put their screenwriters to it, and Voila’ - Godfather 4.

Bad idea all around. Then again since another kind of sequel is in the works to another classic…
