Richard Bright, who played Al Neri the the Godfather films, was killed when hit by a bus.
This is bad. I’ve admired Bright in everything I saw him in. One of the funniest movies is Rancho Deluxe which stars Jeff Bridges and a young Sam Waterston. Bright and Harry Dean Stanton play Curt and Burt, two lackwits who hang out at the ranch. A totally different side from the menacing Al Neri from the Godfather movies.
Yes…accident.
In all seriousness, my condolances to his family.
That is sad.
Had he just bought some oranges?
Can anyone find a photo of him in any of the Godfather movies?
I’m having a hard time picturing who he is.
He’s Michael’s Luca Brasi. He’s the one that shoots Barzini on the steps. Wears the fake cop suit. Closes the door on Kaye at the end.
Hangs out at the Tahoe house a lot in GF2. Shoots Fredo.
In the McQueen The Getaway he’s the guy in the cowboy hat that swipes the briefcase in the train and McQueen elbows him unconscious so the little kids squirt him with waterguns.
If this link works, he’s on the far right.
It looks like that one doesn’t work.
Try this one or do a Yahoo! Image Search on “Richard Bright” and find the darkish one from GF3. That’s where I found that other one that doesn’t work.
He played Murray, or as Dennis Leary’s character referred to him “A F**king Waste Of Skin Called Murray”, in the movie The Ref.
I thought he was wicked as Al Neri, and couldn’t believe it was the same guy in the Ref, years later, playing such a meek and wishy-washy character. Great character work.
Sad.
