Thanks for the info. Now I’m curious, but it’s a total tangent… anyways, I’m just wondering what you’d consider to be “your country?” Since you’re an american citizen, would you use that phrase to refer to here, or to El Salvador? Jus’ curious.
I found out recently that the Government of the old country will still consider you a Salvadorian no matter what, so I am pulling an Arnold Schwarzenegger here: I have dual citizenship!
However, Ever since the oath, I consider my country to be the USA. Of course, when I came fleeing from El Salvador I should have wondered: why I should be coming to the country that was doing so much harm to the country I was borne? But even in El Salvador, I found Mad magazine.

Well, that and other examples of dissent in the USA (and golly: guys who publish those devastating parodies or editorials against Reagan are not shot?) showed me that the USA does protect dissent, of course that was then, today I am beginning to wonder. 
But I still see hope in the USA, a country that almost defeated an incumbent (pretender of being) a “war president” does deserve to fight for it. We can do better.
Yeah. It still sucks, but it does not also blow.
