Darklands was good. So are the Tropico games, if you like city builders.
Disciples 2 is good if you like Heroes of Might and Magic style games.
Silent Service 2 is perhaps the best + most accessible submarine warfare sim of all time. I have Silent Hunter 3 and Wolves of the Pacific but SS2 is the one I keep going back to.
Pirates! Gold Plus is basically identical to the original Sid Meier’s Pirates! but with better graphics.
