Going to Grad School

My experience thus far is… well, grad school is not easy. At least in my program, it’s a constant mental and emotional rollercoaster.

But yes, you do get to sip coffee and read. Much more than you were ever expecting…

Hey, wait a minute! I drive 200 miles round trip two days a week to attend grad school classes and do research in the university library, returning home around 11 p.m. on those two evenings. The other three days a week I get up at 4 a.m. and work until 6 p.m. in order to put in 40 hours a week to qualify for full-time benefits at work. Whatever other time I have is spent reading the required literature, doing on-line research for semester papers and my thesis, and writing dozens of weekly papers every semester. I screwed up big time somewhere! :smack:

I really do want to emphasize, that I apologize for the hostility of my earlier post. Congratulations on getting into grad school. Grad school is fun, and you will have at some of the independence that you imagine. It is not undergrad though. Somethings about grad school are better, somethings are worse. At least in my department, the politics…ohhh the politics.
