Not exactly our usual European vacation, but there you are. I think we will be in Brasov for a week, and Bucharest for a week.
Any ideas? Our kids will be fencing/training with the Romanian national saber team for most of the trip, but we’ll have done free time.
That sounds like amazing fun. There are a fair number of museums and parks, crime is fairly low - watch out for pick pockets and con artists. Herastrau Park is definitely worth a visit - it has buildings brought in from other parts of the country, sort of like one of our living history museums. Food is a sort of crossroads of turkish and russian. Try the pancakes, they are crepelike both sweet and savory are available.
I think I’m going to remain here this summer, too.
