$34.00!!! And that’s with the SenCit discount! But it’s okay, 'cause it’s part of my birthday present tomorrow and that’s just the one thing I wanted.
Don’t know if it’s the 24 or 48 fps version though. It’s in Douglasville Ga., so I guess I will find out when we get there.
I’m leaving in about 35 minutes to see it on 3D in a regular theater. I think last time (last spring for something) was $13, which is more than enough for me.
Happy Birthday! Hope it works out to be a good gift for you! (ie, good movie you enjoy, no headaches, eye strain or motion sickness to ruin it.)
Well, I gotta tell ya, I can’t see 3D with these eyes. Nothing jumped out at me, although I could see the action/actors moving against the background. Secondly 3D is overrated IMO. I would have been just as happy watching it as a regular movie. And last, it was too friggin’ LOUD! It was so loud one could not understand what the actors were even saying sometimes.
Happy Birthday, Quasi! I saw The Hobbit and loved it! I don’t think the 3D or the higher frame rate added much beyond seeing it on the big screen. IMAX might had added something, but that’s not how I saw it. Again, I loved it, and can’t wait for part 2.
For the loudness, when I go to concerts now I bring a pair of foam earplugs. The kind you get at the hardware store to use with lawn mowing. IME they do a good job of lowering the volume without distorting the sound. They are also cheap. I went to a Springsteen concert in the 80s where I was seated next to a speaker, and my ears rang to three days. I used foam earplugs the next time I saw The Boss, and my ears were fine that night. Just a suggestion, YMMV, void where taxed, etc.
