Has anyone ever seen anyone use a 2 wood? I don’t think the pros even carry a 2 wood in their bag. Why is the 2 wood so neglected?
The 2 wood is sort of in between clubs that you might need. You can hit it off the fairway, but if you are good enough to hit a ball off the fairway with that, you are probably good enough that you drive the ball far enough that you don’t need to hit a second shot with one or you can reach the green on a par 5 with your second shot with a 3-wood or 5-wood.
Most club manufacturers don’t use numbers on woods anymore, just degrees.
A 2-wood would probably be used by newer golfers as a driver, although it’s easier to find a set of woods that are 1, 3, 5.
