Golf in Myrtle Beach

I’m going to Myrtle Beach for five days next week. My father lives in North Myrtle and my daughter and I will be staying with them. I’ll get at least one chance to get out and play a round.

Since I haven’t played golf in MB in years I don’t know where to go. I’d like to keep the price $50 or less and I’d prefer to stay up north so I don’t take forever. So far the best course I can find is Farmstead Golf Links on the border of North and South Carolina. But it’s really hard to find much on Google since there are so many web sites out there.

I’m also looking for a store, and I know there are going to be tons of them there. I mostly need balls, but I might want to look at some hybrid clubs as I have nothing for the 180-210 range. A driving range would be nice as well. Plus my daughter is 4.5 and she might like to try out miniature golf, which I know there are a ton of as well.

Also if anyone is in the area and wants to get together for a round let me know, I’ll be there all next week.

Depending on when you are going to be in Myrtle Beach, this tournament may impact your choice of courses.

For supplies, go to Martin’s in North Myrtle Beach. It should have everything you need.

I’m not sure about the courses. We stay at Sunset Beach in North Carolina, and my husband likes Oyster Bay and Sandpiper in this area. It’s not too far up the road from North Myrtle, but I’m not sure about the prices.

There’s a good driving range in Little River (just north of North Myrtle) called Harbour View that also has a par three course and a put-put course.

Alright, my father lives in Little River, and it has the miniature golf, which I’m sure my daughter will love to try, at least once. The par 3 should be good too, I only need one nice course, but to be able to get out again for a par 3 would be great.

I live just South of MB.

If you’d like, I’ll check with my boss at work Monday to see if he has any free passes (most “visitors” to our plant never seem to make it to the actual plant) lying around.

The courses I can offer may be a few miles South of NMB, but if you want to play on the #28 top public course in the US - ranked by Golf Magazine (Caledonia, in Pawley’s Island, SC), let me know.

crap. Caledonia is hosting the tournament noted above. I’ll see if I can find something that isn’t hosting. Sorry!

Well thanks for the offer, and I might take you up on it, but Monday I’m sure will not work well. My daughter is only 4.5, and while she knows my father, she doesn’t know him that well and I don’t think she’ll like it the first day down there. Let me know, I can pretend to be a client.

Will do.

If you need to, PM me a phone # or something.

How many will be playing?
