So Europe beat the USA for the 3rd time on the trot

Before ya know it we’ll be whupping their asses at baseball (rounders) basketball (netball) and that other game they play, yanno the one like rugby :stuck_out_tongue:

Beethovens “Ode to joy” is heard in the background

I have no idea why, but the US team always seems to suck at match play.

It makes it very frustrating to cheer for them.

Well done to the Europeans and thanks to the US for a sporting contest.

Chowder, there aren’t many matches between Europe and the US. Certainly the European American Football league is mainly US players and Europe has no hope of winning that.

American golfers don’t do well at match play. They’re used to their individual game, and it’s hard to adjust your play with a partner’s.

That said, good game, had a blast, and we’ll get you next time!

That has been true in the past but this year (and last time I believe it was the same score) they got smoked on sunday as well to the tune of 8.5-3.5.

The US team were soundly beaten, but there were still great examples of sportmanship and friendship on display: Tiger and Tom Lehman with Darren Clarke at the end, McGinley picking up his ball after that idiot streaker distracted the American player. I’m not a fanatical golf fan, but the sport quite often IMO maintains a grace and courtliness that is increasingly rare.

Majors this year 4-0 to the Americans. Rider Cup is a bastard child match. It’s the only thing that Sergio can win, and then only if he is playing as part of a pair.

See you in two years.

Hey, no need to get all defensive about it! It’s just swings and roundabouts. Eventually European players will dominate the Masters for a decade or so again, and the US team will win a Ryder Cup again. Perhaps us Europeans might even snatch a US Open, or a USPGA too!
