Golfers: Question about "Caddyshack"

I mentioned this in another thread and no one saw fit to address the issue :frowning: , so here we are.

In the movie “Caddyshack”, Danny has to sink the putt at the end to win. However, if he misses the putt, they lose. How can this be? :confused: Seems to me, if he sinks the putt and wins, this means that if he misses the putt they tie (assuming he then sinks the putt). In case of a tie, how is the issue resolved? :confused:

BTW, I always wanted to bang the actress that played Danny’s Irish girlfriend. Just thought I’d mention it. :cool:

It was Match Play. So… it was a mistake in the script. For dramatic effect.

I haven’t seen the movie in years, so I may be remembering wrong, but I thought that while Danny wouldn’t have won the game by score if he was successful, Czervik (Rodney Dangerfield) made a bet with the judge double or nothing that Danny would sink that putt. Therefore, the score no longer mattered.

She was also the mayors daughter in Animal House. She had 2 big interesting roles in a hurry. I read that she fell into booze and drugs and turned into a mess.Such a good start.Too bad.
