*Futurama *has been mentioned a few times. Ever notice how, in the pilot episode, it seemed like they were gonna try and make, “Ya gotta do what ya gotta do!” some sort of future society catchphrase? I’m glad they dropped the idea, along with the whole implanted ‘career chips’ thing (they actually made fun of this in a later season with Leela mentioning it and Fry having no idea what she’s talking about!)

Yes, but it’s much more meta than it seems. It’s from the second series of Extras, with Ricky Gervais as a once failed actor, now the star of an incredibly stupid, but equally successful sitcom that he wrote, but hates what it has turned into. The quote is his catchphrase from that show.

I agree - often, when I see people making the “V-For-Victory/Peace Symbol” I’ll say “Go Team Venture!” back to them and so far approximately no-one has ever had any idea what the hell I’m talking about.
