Berlin Cabaret by Peter Jelavich. Very good social history.
I looked at the TOC on Amazon, and ity looked kinda dry—is it a good book, after all?
The Anita Berber book is “out of stock” on Amazon’s German site, and not on bookfinder, so I e’d the publisher . . .
Amazon.de has an English book section, but there is no English version of the German site, if that’s what you’re looking for.
If you click on “Hilfe,” though, there is a help section specifically for English-speaking customers, should you have any difficulties placing an order.
No, I found the book on Amazon—but they say it’s “out of print.” I don’t suppose you could ask any Berlin bookstoes if they have it or could get it, and I’ll pay ya back?
I don’t suppose anyone in Berlin remembers Anita Berber, or Renate Müller, anymore, huh?
Update–I just got an e-mail from Lothar Fischer, the man who wrote the book on Anita Berber, asking me to get back to him! Gosh, for every vengeful, jealous, backstabbing author, there’s one or two sweeties like him . . .
