Do any of y’all know any good electronica songs or anything of that kind? (I like the trance type a lot)
I’m trying to find some good ones to put on a CD.
Thanks!

The Crystal Method - Vegas.
I remember the video for that one playing on mtv2 or somewhere. It was kewl and stuff.
I just downloaded a 73minute long track of Paul Oakenfold doing some live mixing in Miami off Napster, and burned that to a CD. One long 73:00 track, that’s it. Great stuff in there, and he’s an expert at segueing.
And, anything by Moby is worth compiling, too. And, Underworld, The Orb, and Orbital.
Yeah, the song from it “Busy Child” is used in a Reebok commercial.
“I guess I didn’t know”
“Busy Child” is from the Crystal Method CD “Vegas”, which I have and love.
Oh yeah, I listen to Vegas like 3-4 times a week. It jams!
I have no idea about any songs, so I’m basically useless, but I am here in your thread just because you’re you. And to prove you wrong and show you people will go to it. So there.
Gee, I feel so loved…
What kind of electronica you lookin for…cause there are a shit load of styles.
But a good one to start with…is Kraftwerk-the mix…the original electronica band modernizes their hits…fantastic shtuff…highlights on the cd would be…the robots, trans europe express, radioactivity, and computer love.
I like trance, eurodance, and house.
I don’t like the drum and bass style.
But I’m open to pretty much anything else that I haven;t hear before
DJ Dado “Revenge”, Trance Trippin
JM Jarre and Sash! “Oxygene”, (I forget what album)
Libra Presents Taylor “Anamoly”, Trance Trippin
The Shrink “Nervous Breakdown”, Trance Global Nation (I think)
Underworld “Born Slippy”, Trainspotting Soundtrack
Great…great goa trance cd
Juno Reactor-Bible of Dreams
They also have a new cd out…i heard it was damn good
Also…if you wanna check out some excelent EBM/synth-pop…check out VnV Nation.
Aphex Twin, the genius behind the mask, has some really excellent trance stuff on his Selected Ambient Works 85-92 CD. I love Aphex Twin. He’s very diverse.
Also, The Orb are premium ambient/trance quality. Most of their songs last about 7-15 minutes.
I just think you should chec out Aphex Twin. He’s much better!
-crispix listens to Metallica instead
Yeah, Oakenfold’s live mixes are great. I recommend Live at Resident (which I’m listening to right now as a matter of fact) and Goa silver.
Anything by Orbital, Moby, the Chemical Brothers, Paul van Dyk… If you’re going to do mostly trance, throw in some Phillip Glass for a change of pace.
He rocks! … my favorite is still this one live cut from Ibiza.
Currently I really enjoy Gamemaster (by Lost Tribe), most of the stuff by ATB, and almost all the stuff from DJ Quicksilver.

Underworld “Born Slippy”, Trainspotting Soundtrack
Underworld is probably my favourite electronica group. This song is also on their album Pearl’s Girl, which is great. Their first album, Dubbnobasswithmyheadman, is one of my favourite electronica albums. The song “Cowgirl” is on there, which was also on the Hackers soundtrack.
Also, I’m a big Moby fan.
My favourite trance act would have to Shamanic Tribes on Acid - but they ain’t easy to find
Well first off don’t call it electronica. yech. Second, I recomend this site. http://www.thump-radio.com all sorts of great artists on there, including Sensei, the Hardkiss bros, Sage, UFO, Digweed, Sasha, Mars, Andy Sine, etc, etc. It’s all real-audio, but it can be converted into MP3’s and burned onto CDs. Really great stuff. Also check out their weekly radio program, and if you’re ever in SF go to one of their parties at 550 barnaveld.
sidenote… Oakenfold is coming to SF and my boss is currently in negotiations to get him to spin at our club. That’s right, we’d be the only one in SF to have him. I’m pretty excited.
I can’t believe I missed this thread…Sorry to resurrect it. Anyway, if you’re talking songs, then definitely “Stuck in the Middle with Fluke (Alternative Mix)” by Fluke, a remix of the Smashing Pumpkins “The End is the Beginning is the End”, has the coolest beat of any song, ever. Second would be another Fluke song, “V six”, from the WipeoutXL soundtrack. Then…Cirrus, “Stop & Panic”. Then the Propellerheads’ “On her Majesty’s Secret Service”. Then “Dusted” by Leftfield. Then Fatboy Slim, “Right Here, Right Now”. Then Apollo 440’s “Blackbeat”. “Dreaming” by BT is good. “Pistolero” (from the single, not from the album Shango) by Juno Reactor is excellent. Also Moby’s remix of the James Bond theme is cool. And “The Sound” by Lunatic Calm. “Smack my B*tch Up” by Prodigy is wicked-pissah.
If you’d like an album, I recommend Fluke’s “Risotto”, the Propellerheads’ “decksanddrumsandrockandroll”, the Chemical Brothers’ “Dig Your Own Hole”, Moby’s “Play”, or the Prodigy’s “Fat of the Land.”
