I’d always known it as Emperor of the North but apparently, bizarrely, it was first released under the former and then re-released under the latter. Still, yep, a good 'un.
Good catch, lieu, because the way it was listed on the TV page I use was without the Pole part. Even though IMDB shows Emperor of the North Pole (1973) as the “official” title, when you do a title search it lists it as aka the one without the Pole part.
Since the characters refer to the North Pole Emperorship arising from feats on the railroad, I prefer that version.
Nobody Cares About The Railroad Anymore by Harry Nilsson. (Also, 1941, now that I think about it.)
This place cracks me up. Last week when I left this thread, there were just a couple of posts in it…now it’s back!!
I’ll add Runaway Train by Soul Asylum
I haaaate that song.
But elbows totally makes up for it with a song that always reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Benicio DelToro’s character sort of starts to sing that in the middle of a legendary drug binge.
Here are some from my music collection that haven’t shown up yet, as far as I can tell. And Cemetery Savior, I’ve got one by Woody.
