There have been so many threads denouncing critically-acclaimed works as crap, I think it might be fun to do the opposite. The rule is to find a story/novel/whatever written by a critically acclaimed author that is really good, despite never having become famous.
To start, I recommend “A Day’s Wait” by Ernest Hemmingway.
