Good things in mediocre movies

Thanks. I see the filmmakers at least considered and shot a scene with my proposed scenario beforehand even though it didn’t make the final cut (perhaps the sex scene was cut for rating purposes).

To paraphrase Morbo, in what universe is “The Last Picture Show” mediocre?

For mediocre you need something like “Five Easy Pieces,” which contained the hilarious scenes with Helena Kallianiotes and Toni Basil as two hitchhikers on their way to Alaska.

And he doesn’t get along very well with Nick Van Owen. Somewhere, Warren Zevon is smiling.

The onje inhabited by intelligent people.

The Curse of the Dragon Queen has a terrific chase scene.

Jim’s Son, you’re allowed to disagree with other people; you’re not allowed to insult them. Knock it off.

I think if I was going to pick one redeeming scene from The Break-Up, it would be the Old 97s concert.

Bill Murray’s Hunter S. Thompson in Where The Buffalo Roam. Skip the first 30 minutes (hospital and courtroom scenes).

I thought the Lemony Snickett movie with Jim Carey was mediocre at best. But the end credits were inspired! I could watch them over and over. I mean, I could, but every time I find a YouTube version it gets pulled shortly thereafter.

I also thought that David absolutely redeemed every scene that he was in. I particularly like the scene where he feeds Love Interest Scientist Guy the alien-goo-spiked champagne; with a very calm, quiet, understated few words, David makes it perfectly clear exactly what he thinks of his creators, and why: They think absolutely nothing of him.

I really wanted David to be the only survivor of the movie - I consider him the only sympathetic character.

WOW says I, a post apocalyptic sci fi/kung fu hybrid, how did I never hear of this?!

Well because it is horrible thats why, horribly dated 70s fashions and hair(the male star looks like he belongs on a porn set) atrocious dialog, surreal attempts at being arty, I’m still not sure if the “apes” were supposed to be real apes or a gang in makeup?

But all that said the locations it was shot in are gorgeous, just beautiful deserts and canyons. And there are a few really cool scenes like the dream where he faces death.

Greatest scene in a movie. Only thing that would have made it better was if it was real.
