Prayers and good thought are headed your way.
Luck to him.
I’m very sorry to hear this, koeeaddi. Best wishes to Watcher for a speedy recovery, and for strength for you and your family.
One of the many accidents, incidents and illnesses from which my Grandfather From Hell has recovered much better and more spedily than any doctor expected was a stroke. He had it at 91 and after six months he was 100% recovered on the left side, over 95% recovered on the right (he can’t undo buttons one-handed any more, oh gosh the paaaaain).
No cabras(1) here, but I’m mentally stealing that cabrón’s(2) powers of recovery and shipping them to your brother, may he watch the sky for a long time. Ommm…
(1): lit. female goat.
(2): lit. male goat. Non-literally, the politest translation would be sonabitch.
We never interacted but I too made note of the great name because it’s one of my favorite songs. I hope you’re able to put headphones on him and play loops of Foxtrot from an mp3 player! He’ll thank you later.
Missed the edit window. In case anyone’s curious, this is the song that Watcher is named for.
Edit to add, vocals by Peter Gabriel. It was the first song by them I heard. It literally, profoundly, changed my life.
My thoughts are with you both. Bon courage.
Strokes are something my family is familiar with. Best of luck, and stay strong.
I’m so sorry to hear this.
Sending good vibes and healing thoughts to you, your brother, and your family.
Adding in my thoughts and well-wishes for him, and anyone that cares about him.
Well, if it means anything, I’m going to listen to Watcher of The Skies right now. Hope everything is ok.
I did that last night, and found the song to be very intense and spiritual.
I have a fondness ofor these kinds of songs, due to the fact that they’re not your ordinary, “june, spoon, moon”, “baby-this, baby-that”. They actually make you think (showing my age, but the Moody Blues come to mind!:))
Is there an update on our friend Watcher?
Thanks
Q
ETA: Thanks for the link, Equipoise!
Thanks, everybody for the good wishes and concern. Watcher is hanging in there, but his condition remains precarious. On the bright side, leave it to the Dope to come through with various things we can try to communicate with him, not to mention an awesome new Doper with a perspective more inspirational than I could have imagined. Watcher would love that a few of the answers we’re looking for are coming from here.
Oh, God, this is SOOOO awesome! Thanks for posting this koeoeaddi!
Since reading this post I have gone online to inform myself, since I have sleep apnea myself, and I have learned a lot about this disease.
I continue to send my best wishes, thoughts and prayers to our friend Watcher.
Just amazing what our bodies and mind can accomplish when faced with something like this!
Bill
Respectfully unsticking this one. koeoeaddi, thank you for the update. Please keep us posted on what’s happening. I’m glad there are some reasons for optimism.
