I recently moved into my own apartment and have been outfitting it with furniture as necessary – bookcases, a desk, console tables, etc. Unfortunately, I’m discovering (as you might expect) that cheaper furniture (say, from Ikea or Target) tends to be of mediocre quality, while the presumably better quality stuff at Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, and West Elm is generally prohibitively expensive. Not having a car, I’ve found it convenient to do as much shopping as I can online (I rented a car one weekend to get things from Ikea and West Elm), so exploring all the local furniture warehouses isn’t really an option.
Can anyone direct me to a website or two that are likely to have a decent selection of decently made, decently priced furniture? It can either be something like overstock.com, which I’m browsing now, or an actual brick-and-mortar store from whom I can order online.
