Good yearbook "ad" quote

Ok, so my senior (female) in high school is graduating and we are buying the requisite ad in the yearbook, you know, with her picture and some particularly clever and pithy quote. Does anyone have any website advice on where I might find one (quote, not picture, that I have)? Does anyone have a quote of their own, or that they have seen that they think is particularly good?

I dreamt I was back in uniform
And a candidate for examination
History - someone had blunder’d -
And a voice rapped, ‘Knuckle under’
Living a law just short of delusion
When we fall in love, there’s confusion
This must be the place I waited years to leave

  • Pet Shop Boys, “This must be the place I waited years to leave”

How about the Wizard of Oz

You could use the one that was rejected when my friends and I graduated. It’s from The Clash’s “Magnificent Seven,” from Sandinista :

“Vacuum cleaner sucks up budgie. Oh oh, bye bye!”

They said it was too suggestive for a 1981 yearbook. :dubious:

“Congratulations, Sweetie! We’ll get those genital warts removed as your graduation present!”

“Don’t sweat the petty things and don’t pet the sweaty things.”

We just dug up some random latin words, made up some more Latin-sounding words, and threw them together in a way that seemed to make sense. That way, whenever anyone asked what it said, we could say whatever we wanted.

Floyd is a good source for nihilist wisdom: “The sun is the same in a relative way but you’re older, shorter of breath, and one day closer to death.”

Things are going great, and they’re only getting better
I’m doing all right, getting good grades
The future’s so bright
I gotta wear shades.

Timbuk3 “The Future’s So Bright, I Gott Wear Shades”

Nothing lasts,
Life goes on,
Full of surprises.
You’ll be faced with problems
of all shapes and sizes.
You’re going to have to make
A few compromises,
For now.
But only for now.

Can you tell us more about her, like what she’s done in high school (sports, music, drama…)?

I second the Wizard of Oz quote. It’s perfect.
