After twenty years, the worlds longest running television program dedicated to computers and computing technology has been canceled.
Wow, that show is almost as old as me. Goodness! I remember them reviewing the first computer encyclopedias, it was on a laser disc. I never really thought that it would end. Yeah, it was little more than a platform for free advertising for the products that they “reviewed”. However, I am still sad to see it go.
It would be really cool if you were able to dig up some of the really old episodes of that show. Imagine seeing in-depth television reviews of TRS-80s, Commodore PETs, and some nutty new little program called Windows.
I’ll miss the host’s ridiculous combover and the super cheesy theme music.
Hey, leave Stewart Cheifet alone! He was a great host!
I watched this show constantly from about 92 to 97 until my PBS station stopped carrying it. I’ll never forget watching a half dozen software billionaires (Gates included) participating in those god awful quiz shows they did once a year (imagine a really bad, really really cheap cable access game show!)
I’m surprised TechTV didn’t pick it up.
It was a great show.
I remember a couple of things from early shows that impressed me at the time - Captain Crunch, color palette cycling on the Amiga.
