Goodbye Cooper. You were a Good Dog.

He was beautiful, I am sorry for your sadness.

My condolences.

Regards,
Leet the Wonder Dog[sup]TM[/sup]

You have our deepest sympathies.

Ike, Duncan and Pepper.

I’m sorry for your loss, losing a dog isn’t “just like” losing a member of the family, it IS losing a member of the family :frowning:

Our Cooper sends his condolences as well :frowning:

When the inevitable time comes for my Cooper, I plan to give him his Last Best Day, if he wants cheeseburgers, fine, if he wants lobster, fine, whatever he wants to do, to eat, or be with, it’s his.

Condolences from our pack as well.

My little pit bull Simone befriended several goldens when she was young; they were very tolerant of her rambunctiousness. To this day she is drawn to them.

I’m sorry. He looked like a wonderful dog. And your photos of him were very well done.

So very sorry. I hope Cooper likes Scotties 'cuz I know my little girl always has time to show a newbie around. She’ll leave all the water geese for Cooper, and take care of the land geese herself.

Thanks everyone. It was a tough week. Our other dog, Charlie has been kind of lost. he’s had a companion for the last 12 or so years. I’ve been finding myself perusing the local Golden rescue sites. Not ready yet, but soon it think.

That’s the spirit! Good boy!

I’m so sorry, they do leave such a big hole behind when they leave. That said, I’m sure there will be another dog out there who is looking for you and will be ready when you are.

I am so sorry for the loss of Cooper. May the paw prints on your heart last forever.

Every time I open one of these threads, my allergies start acting up. I lost my Brewster to cancer in December. I had him for almost 11 years. I’m sure he’s gotten together with Cooper to chase anything that moves and pee on everything that doesn’t move.

That’s a great site, MacTech. It brought memories of Brewster flooding back. Literally. I had tears in my eyes, but it felt good to remember him, too. Fortunately, my new best friend, Angel, was sitting by my side, and I was petting her as I read it.

Sending you , your family and Charlie the kindest of regards and warmest of supplications…

My sister and mom both lost their companions at the beginning of this year…my mom’s was a 15 year old lab who was simple old…my sisters ACD had some type of cancer.

Both have recently “re-homed” shelter dogs…I met Chloe, my mom’s new Lab mix. We played “fetch and release” all day…a good time was had by all…

When the time is right, you will know.

Sorry you had to see Cooper go; glad you had the strength to give him a merciful end.

I see MacTech has already posted about Duke’s last day. You might like Matthew Inman’s cartoon, The Dog Paradox.

I’m sorry for your loss, Yancy. Our animals are more like family than pets and it’s always hard when the time comes that one of them passes.

I had to have my Annie put to sleep this morning. She’s been sick a while, and she started bleeding internally, probably a ruptured tumor. The vet didn’t recommend treatment, or even more tests. He said even if we found out what the cause was, there wasn’t much of a chance for a cure. Annie’s the dog that ate the huge bag of Reese’s PB cups, then the next year had her stomach twist and needed emergency surgery to fix that. Two months ago she had a mammary tumor removed. The vet thought it hadn’t spread, but maybe it had. Or maybe it was something else. I did all I could. Goodbye, Annie. Meet you at the bridge.

(((StGermain)))

StG, so very sorry about Annie. We lost our Gracie a year-and-a-half ago to something similar. We think. She had a plethora of fatty tumors and one of them probably ruptured during a surgery, she became extremely anemic and would have required a transfusion before exploratory surgery which the vet said she probably wouldn’t survive due to her age (14.5 YO), so, say goodnight, Gracie. :frowning:

How’s Drago? Still hanging in there? Fully recovered from the tick episode?

Here’s an item from Donald McCaig that I love–excerpted from his book, “A Useful Dog.”

I’m so sorry. I love the name Annie for a dog. I hope she has all the Reese’s she can eat now, with no ill consequences.
