Goodbye Notre Dame?

27-7 Michigan 2nd Quarter, posers!

“Goodbye, Notre Dame” are words that sound lovely to my ears.

I went to U of Michigan.

Yep.

Notre Dame’s fumbles turned into victory for Michigan.

Oops, I meant 34-7 in the first half.

Mebbe Weiss needs to take a lap or two.
Snark!

Why do so many people always drool over Notre Dame early in the season?

They’re commies.

From the young man in the 22nd row…

Hello Michigan!

I remember reading years ago that part of Knute Rockne’s genius at Notre Dame involved the long lasting regard he created for the Fighting Irish which, according to the writer, always exceeded their achievements. Supposedly ND at the time had the most highly regarded journalism school in the US. Rockne arranged for the students to be required to cover the football team’s games and made sure that it was a pleasurable experience for them all. Years later the US media was overflowing with ND graduates in influential positions who had fond memories of their days covering ND football.

I am not familiar enough with college football to recall the ratings and Heisman winners that he felt had received a voting boost, nor whether his charges are justified but I loved the Machiavellian idea behind it.

Perhaps it is true??

Gotta love it!

My hatred for notre damn runs as strong as so much milky discharge down the legs of thier cheerleader squad.

Number 2? They are not fit to lick clean the jocks of the “coming” weeks number 2 team (whoever that might be  )

Brandy Quinn? The next time I hear her name better in conjunction with a porn convention extravanganza.

I, a native of the state of Michigan and being in Ann Arbor many times, as well as attenting (an extension of) the University, am mighty happy to see the Irish lose in spectacular fashion.

The Irish are always rated a little higher than they should be. Then again, so is Michigan. My theory of their inflation is because Lloyd Carr is way too conservative with the offense and he ends up costing them at least one game. Let’s not even START on the defense, where they made Vince Young into a household name with their ultra-lax-bend-and-keep-bending-but-break-on-the-goal-line defense. Both coordinators are (thankfully) gone. It appears that the offense is looking more…fun and the defense is actually attacking. Maybe Michigan is going to put it all together and keep it there this year. Hell, the season after they took a giant shit (1997) they had a share of the national championship. Will it happen again? Fuck if I know. Could it happen? It most certainly could.

My daddy was a Michigan alumnus, so our family staunchly support the Wolverines as well. I remember hearing the score on the radio and bursting out with “Hail to the Victors” in the car.

Go Blue! fist pump

Enjoy it now, but I recently saw a lad in Columbus with a t-shirt that read, “Lloyd Carr is the new John Cooper.”
