Michigan vs. Notre Dame: Who will be 0-3?

One of the most popular regular season college football bouts has become a desparation bowl. Who do you pick to blow the game, followed by the head coach being fired immediately after the game and a mass suicide pact by fans?

I predict Notre Dame loses on a safety as the clock winds down in the fourth quarter. The ball gets snapped over the punter’s head and he falls on it in the end zone.

Notre Dame. I’m literally betting on it.

And the guys on ESPN will praise him for doing so.

I say ND gets crushed yet again.

ND. Their offense is awful, and while Michigan’s hasn’t been that great they still have Mike Hart.

Absolute guess, MI 38 ND14.

I hope for a 0-0 tie.

But I honestly think UofM can pull this off before ND can.

I’ll just keep Spartyin’ on out here in Phoenix, though. Who would’ve guessed MSU would be 2-0 while both UofM and ND would be 0-2?

I’ll be rooting for the Irish, but if I were a betting man, I’d put my money on the Wolverines like the rest of you.

Outside of this thread (and soon to be, inside it, I’m sure) I never knew there was this much wolverine hate out there.

Notre Dame will just barely win. I don’t think Michigan can win coming off losses to App State and Oregon, of all people. :Prepares for pileon:

With the exception of Army/Navy, this may be the only nationally televised game featuring two unranked teams!

I’ll have to take Michigan, I don’t see them losing 3 in a row at home. Home field advantage is huge in college football.

LOUNE, I’m a Gopher, so my hatred of Michigan is completely reasonable!

I absolutely can’t see Michigan coming out flat for this one. ND isn’t Oregon, so the players should be fired up for this one. Both will start freshman QBs, so if either does extremely well or poorly that might be the key. All I really want is for U-M to wear them out and expose their weaknesses to make easy pickings for MSU next week in South Bend. I’m not sure I want to play an angry 0-3 Notre Dame but I think that will be the case. U-M 20 ND 3.

I guess I still have “pre season analysis” hangover, because I still think Michigan is a better team.

They’ve both looked VERY bad though. Oregon just carved them up with the run. That game wasn’t even close. It made it look like the App St. thing was no fluke at all, so its hard to say that ND can’t win.

But, I was watching G.Tech - ND, and wow, the Irish looked like they didn’t belong on a D-I field. It felt like time of possession in that game was about 59 minutes to 1.

Two teams that look TERRIBLE so far.

I’ll give the nod to Michigan.

Despite the embarrassing losses suffered thus far by Michigan, I’ll have to go with them.

In addition to blow dealt to ND by Georgia Tech, there’s also the fact that they had exactly zero rushing yards against PSU last week. Granted, Penn State has a terrific defense, but having a freshman in at QB combined with the the fact that they can’t even move the ball three lousy feet on the ground simply takes away too many offensive options to eek out a win in this one.

Being a Buckeye fan, I’m required by law to root against Michigan…but what little I’ve seen of Notre Dame leads me to believe that they can’t win.

I’m hoping for a 3-3 tie.

My heart says ND 13 - MI 7. However, ND still fails to score an offensive touchdown. My head says MI 20 - ND 6 is more likely to happen.

O-H!!

(C’mon, you know someone had to do it!)

As much as I hate to admit it, I think MI will get to 1-2 this week. Two suck teams, I’ll go with home field advantage.

N-O!!

(Finally beat those OSU bastards to the punch!)

It’s not just a freshman at QB. It’s a freshman called Clausen at QB. 3 years living in Tennessee, and I never even liked the Vols, but the words “Clausen under center” are still enough to send fear to my heart.
