What an effen miserable day in college football.

The only semi-victory was ND beating BYU. The only teams I want to lose more than ND are Michigan and BYU.

So Northwestern had Nebraska by the jugular and lets them to. Purdue has Ohio State beaten and lets them go. Michigan State has Michigan and gives it away to those assholes.

Drink heavily. It will alleviate the pain for a few hours.

I’d drink to if I was watching ND and Big 10 football.

Fortunately I was watching the Gators destroy USCe, FSU beat Miami and two teams from the Big 12 score 50+ points…and lose :smack:

And totally under the radar: DUKE became Bowl Eligible. OMG!

That makes me embarrassed to be a Georgia Tech alum…

Also Ga Tech alum (June 1983). The MTSU game was embarrassing.

Yeah, I’m a bit irritated by the Northwestern loss, but it’s no surprise. N(w)U has had difficulty closing out the fourth quarter this year (see Penn State, for instance.) At this point, I just want them to finally win a bowl game–that’s all I ask from them this season. I’m a Cubs fan and a Northwestern fan. Kind of a double whammy there. :frowning:

Yes, this game alone made the weekend worth it. Just awesome to see Duke win one on 4th down with seconds to go to become bowl eligible. And I’m not even a Duke fan.

Duke hadn’t beaten UNC in 5 years (or so), hadn’t won at Chapel Hill in 20+.

Are you kidding? Oregon State beat Utah 21-7 to remain undefeated with a 6-0 record, the best season start for the Beavers in over a century.

Proud alum.

How about the Zebras shoving a rusty metal dildo up Nevada’s Ass allowing San Diego to take it to overtime and steal the win?

Pretty seriously bad officiating late in the 4th quarter.

The Southern Cal game rocked however!

I came in here to same precisely the same thing. Go Beavers!

The last time OSU went 6-0 was 1907. It’s been awhile.

Fine day tho if you are a Florida Gators fan. Such as I am (Class of '96). Completely outclassed two top 5 teams in a row.

Rutgers, baby. 7 - 0. Sure, they haven’t beaten anyone good (including Arkansas). They beat who’s been on the field. Beat Cincy and Louisville and punch the BCS ticket.

Woo, Miami showed up for a big game! The coaches on the offensive side of the ball didn’t, though. When a senior running back (Mike James) is picking up yards both on the ground and in the air, it’s a good idea to use him a bit. I figured FSU would win, but Miami had the chance to win the game and it was thrown away. Maybe next year…

Arkansas still has some NFL talent on its roster, and I imagine that they played much better against RU than they did against ULM. Hopefully Arkansas can finish strong (and help RU).
Their defense has been stellar, often playing a bend but don’t break style. The secondary has been the weak link there. Offensively, they usually keep it close to the vest, but they can, and will open it up when needed (yesterday and in Fayetville). Special teams has been up and down, with the kicking game being a major question mark.
Just need five more 1-0 weeks. Let’s go Rutgers!!!

You think your day sucked? My Bears had their rivalry game (in October, for stupid reasons) – The Big Game against Stanford. 21-3. We had 3 rushing yards.

:smack:

FSU did enough to win, but lost a bunch of players to injury (incl our starting RB). That first half might have been the worst officiating I’ve ever seen. Even the announcers starting talking about “phantom” penalities.

I’m a Bama fan, so I had another good weekend.

I attended Eastern Kentucky University for most of the 90’s. Twice some of my fraternity brothers and I travelled to WKU to hang out with our brothers and watch the rivalry game. Then through the past decade I’ve kinda followed them as they struggled to join the FBS with a winless season ranked deal last of over 120 teams.

But then they got an alumni and former player to come back to be their head coach and he’s done some pretty good things. Going into this weekend their only loss was to #1 Alabama and they beat UK. Dating back 14 games they were 12-2 with their only other loss to #1 LSU last year. So I was really wanting to hear their game against ULM (who have a win over Arkansas and 2 close losses to Auburn and Baylor).

Unfortunately XM doesn’t carry Sunbelt games. Apparently this game wasn’t on TV either. Considering all of the aforementioned circumstances, I would have thought that this game would have had some interest.
Unfortunately, it appears that WKU lost in overtime.

ND fan here. I thought the weekend was fine, although that game was closer than it had to be. BYU is a pretty mediocre team.

ND goes to Oklahoma this weekend and frankly, nothing woud surprise me. Actually, a blowout in ND’s favor would kind of surprise me. But if they win a close one, lose a close one or get blown out, I won’t be shocked. The season is on the line for both teams.

Stanford beat Cal, and that’s all I care about. Woo-hoo!!

Any weekend in which Texas Tech wins is okay by me. Triple OT shouldn’t have happened, but hey, at least it came out all right in the end.
