It looks like there’s just been a single thread, on the Alamo Bowl – here’s the place for running commentary on any & all of the 15 remaining games.
Not that I’ve seen any so far…just most of the Minnesota – TT game. Bummer for the Gophers.
By the way: The WAC has gone out of business, and ended on a high note: 2-0 in their bowl games. I have fond memories of the years they would send their champion to the Holiday Bowl (usually SDSU or BYU) which were always crazy offensive shootouts.
At the moment, Conference-USA is 3-1; Mountain West is 1-4. The big boys are just getting started (except the Pac-12, which always has a crappy bowl slate. They’ve played 5 games already (2-3) with 3 left. The SEC hasn’t played a game.)
Which makes the ACC 2-2 so far (3-1 if Duke hadn’t COLLAPSED against Cincy). Funny that a team that needed an NCAA waiver to even play spanked the pre-season #1 Trojans.
It’s a pretty classic bowl game scenario – one team just happy to be there; and one team that’s pissed off, coming in on a tailspin, and thinks the whole thing is beneath their dignity.
Easy money betting on the former, especially when they’re the underdog.
It’s not looking good for Clemson. [ETA: Starting to look better for Clemson] (As a 'Bama fan I typically root for all of the SEC teams, but I like Clemson too, so I’m rooting for them here.)
Good job Vandy. James Franklin seems like a good guy to play for.
This Southern Cal team (ie. sans Barkley) that lost 21-7 to a Ga. Tech team with a losing record is the same team that lost 22-13 to Notre Dame, right? I wonder if the line on the NCG is going to change after this?
My Spartans played half of a good game and just good enough to squeak by TCU. Maybe we’ve got a QB for next year after all in Cook. Maxwell just doesn’t light the spark on the offense, kudos to Dantonio for making the switch in this game.
I can’t wait to see what Michigan does with Gardner having time to prepare. The good thing about him is that he gets better as time goes on, which Denard unfortunately didn’t. It sounds like the retroactive red-shirt for his Freshman year has a good chance of going through, so If he shows some big game intensity, it could be fun for the next few years.
