He has a Canadian background, which probably explains it.
Congrats to your bump jumper. And, we’ll call him Australian because “Ozzie, Ozzie, Ozzie, oy, oy, oy” sounds better than “Canuck, Canuck, Canuck, eh, eh, eh.”
(It’s a good thing I previewed this, because I had left the “p” off the end of the word “bump,” and that would’ve changed the whole tenor of my comment.)
I felt a little bad for him in the post race interview. The interviewer (CBC) was digging for him to acknowledge his Canadian background and he really didn’t feel like doing that. The guy just won a gold medal…ask him about his race or leave him alone.
Personally I was hoping for a little better result from Alexandre Bilodeau but I’m sure he did his best.
Congrats to Dale.
Good on him! Canadian background or not – he’s an Aussie, and I’m very, very pleased for our cousins across the Ditch. Excellent!
Started a company at 13 that is now worth $40,000,000.00. Won Olympic gold at 21.
Truly amazing!
Yay! Go Aussie!
Does he sound Aussie now or Canadian still?
Dale seems like the perfect catch: intelligent, rich, fit, etc. I wonder if he’s single.
He doesn’t have an australian accent (he lives in Whistler B.C.).
What?? An Aussie winning something in the winter Olympics??
Oh, he’s really Canadian.
Whew.
I mean, if it were the Summer Olympic Sydney Tunnel Web Spider Dangerous Snake/Crocodile Dodging Contest, I’d buy it. But c’mon.
Not just any company, but…
If his company contributes in any way to the spread of pop-up advertising, i hope he skis into a crevasse.
I believe that should read: "Goodness me. An Australian has won a gold medal at the Winter Olympics…
…without everyone he’s competing against falling and skidding around the ice like hockey pucks"
Are the Jamaicans in this time?
Ever heard of Alissa Camplin?
Steve’s win was far more interesting and Australian if you like.
Go LOSERS!! Yay!! We love 'em!!
