ok, i know that donald is a duck (duh)! mickey is a mouse. pluto is a dog. but what is goofy? and why does goofy walk upright unlike pluto if goofy is a dog too? why can goofy talk unlike pluto? this is one of life’s most important debates! help!!!

So you finally got around to watching Stand By Me.
You see, Walt Disney was engaged in bizarre genetic experiments involving anthropomorphizing various animals. He was successful with a mouse and a duck, but with the dog, something went wrong and the critter ended up with a little brain damage. Meanwhile, Pluto remained a plain ol’ dog.
